Code of conduct
A good room for everyone.
Beyond Search Summit is built on people being generous with each other: their work, their time and their attention. This is the short version of how we keep it that way. It applies to everyone at the summit, in person and online: attendees, speakers, sponsors, partners and our own team.
What we expect
- Treat everyone with respect, on stage, in sessions, in the hallways and online.
- Assume good faith, listen more than you talk, and give newer people room.
- Keep feedback about the work, not the person.
- Respect the venue, its staff and each other's space and time.
What we will not accept
- Harassment or intimidation of any kind, including unwelcome attention, comments or contact.
- Discrimination based on gender, race, religion, nationality, caste, sexuality, disability, age or appearance.
- Sexual language or imagery in sessions, on stage or in shared spaces.
- Disruptive behaviour that stops others taking part, including while under the influence.
- Recording or photographing someone who has asked you not to.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. Email hello@beyondsearchsummit.com, or find any member of the summit team on the day: we will have named contacts on site and their details in your welcome pack. You can raise something in confidence, and you will not be judged for speaking up.
We take it from there. Depending on what happened, that can mean a quiet word, a formal warning, or being asked to leave the summit without a refund. Serious cases may be reported to the venue or the authorities. Our aim is simple: everyone gets to take part, and nobody has their summit spoiled by someone else.
